Franklin Adams was a prolific artist, architect, designer, and teacher whose cross-media works spanned painting, sculpture, illustration, set and costume design, architecture, and graphic and interior design. A Florida native, Franklin lived and worked in New Orleans for fifty years both as a member of the faculty of Tulane University and as a successful independent artist. His last body of work, exhibited in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, was a collection of drawings of clothing and accessories entitled Layers of Intimacy.
