“Antoine Jacques Philippe de Marigny de Mandeville” (1833)

Description: Antoine Jacques Philippe de Marigny de Mandeville, c.1833, as painted by Jean Joseph Vaudechamp. Marigny de Mandeville, the son-in-law of W.C.C. Claiborne, became an officer in the Orleans Lancers and served as colonel in 10th Louisiana Regiment during the Civil War. The portrait is considered Vaudechamp's most important painting.
