Cotton Exchange

Degas, Edgar - Painting - "Cotton Exchange"

Painted when Edgar Degas was in New Orleans, the “Cotton Exchange” depicts the family business. Michel Musson, Degas' uncle, stands in the foreground next to a pile of cotton. Degas' brothers--Rene, in the center reading the Times Picayune, and Achille, standing idle with his elbows on the window sill--are also visible. ZoomifyView »
